MANAGING LIBRARY WITH SUPPORT OF E-TECHNOLOGY

          To Address issues such as space constraint, limited durability of papers, health hazards owing to dust, timeliness, environmental as well as maintenance issues and more importantly availability of journals in e-format (soft copy), the High Court of Madhya Pradesh has formulated a comprehensive policy documents for procurement of journals, commentaries etc. for the High Court. For modernization of High Court Library and to make it next generation Library and for enhancing efficiency of Library services 11 softwares (e-Journals) covering 22 renowned Journals containing the judgments of Supreme Court, High Courts, Tribunals & Commissions; Central Acts, Rules and Leading Commentary Books have been subscribed in the Libraries of Principal Seat, Jabalpur and its Benches at Indore & Gwalior and MPSJA, Jabalpur.

The Libraries at the Principal Seat at Jabalpur and Benches at Indore and Gwalior, have been equipped with High Speed Printers (45 p.p.m. capacity) which enable quick retrievable of copy of judgments and orders available through Website/Law Softwares (E-Journals). This adds not only to the efficiency but also helps in overcoming space as well as man power constraints.

Libraries at the Principal Seat at Jabalpur and Benches at Indore & Gwalior are using E-Granthalaya Software for upkeeping its In-house management. Also to participate in National Legal Information System (NLIS) being developed by Hon’ble the Supreme Court of India, the complete bibliographic data of Libraries of High Court of M.P. is being migrated through the KOHA Library Automation software and being ported to Hon’ble the Supreme Court.

High Court of M.P. has framed a Policy for procurement and distribution of commentary Books and other reading materials for maintaining uniformity & quick availability of books and also to get rid of the difficulties being experienced in purchasing, distribution and maintenance of Books in Court Library, Bungalow Library and General Library at Principal Seat, Jabalpur and Benches at Indore & Gwalior.

          At the same time, Scheme for weeding out old and extra material has been formulated, which stipulates rationalization of Library and weeding out of physical damage or obsolete reading material whereas new editions have been procured. The Scheme provides for distribution of old editions after retaining prescribed sets of such reading material to State Judicial Academy or District Courts.

Documentation

The following default options are provided by the plugin. They can be overridden and customized by passing options object to the initialization of the pluqin and by using HTML5 data attributes on the container element.
